Week One- March 26, 2012- April 1, 2012
Weekly miles required: 9
Weekly miles run: 10
Total training miles: 10

Conditioning, Day 8 of 77

More about me, my training plans, etc later. Probably no one will read this (because I will tell no one that I am doing this blog) and so probably, this will just be a way for me to journal my training for my first marathon.
But for now, I just want to start blogging. So I am jumping on in. On day 8. Hashtag sorryimnotsorry. That's how I roll. I will work on the catch up later.

This week, my conditioning calls for:
Mon- rest
Tues- 2 miles
Wed- 3 miles
Thurs- 1.5 miles
Fri- rest
Sat- 4 miles
Sun- 30 min walk

I got Monday down. Resting days are sometimes easy and sometimes not. A lot of times, I want to go do something anyway. People and non-runners joke that the resting days are the days where they excel, but I think it is actually hard to teach your body not to run, even if you have that urge to just go! Last night, I was thankful for high-energy dogs that need lots of walks- it gave me a reason to get out and do something... without feeling like I was breaking the schedule. More on schedules later, as well.

I think I will be able to stick to the assigned running days this week and not have to move anything around. It is supposed to rain Tues/Wed/Thurs so that may be the only thing that delays me. I actually love running in the rain in these temperatures, but sometimes, it just is a total downpour and I have a hard time making myself do that. Also, if it comes down to the dogs or the rain, I may have to choose the dogs. One good thing about being a person who sticks to schedules absolutely zero % of the time is that it doesn't bother me to have to move days around!

About to go run 2. I hope it's better than my 3 I did Saturday. That was one of those runs that made me feel like I am absolutely crazy for thinking 26.2 is possible.

** easy two. tried to make it back before the rain. temp at run time was 79. felt good.
